new york state residents: a note about sales tax

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •

We use PayPal to process all orders. Orders delivering anywhere within New York State are subject to sales tax, which will be charged at an initial rate of 8.875%. At this time, PayPal does not pre-calculate the huge range of sales tax rates within New York State and its counties. For this reason, we show the maximum rate at checkout, BUT we will manually recalculate your specific rate based on your shipping address when we process your order. We will then refund the difference of your sales tax payment directly to your PayPal or credit card account (if your actual rate is lower than the initial rate charged.) Please allow 3 business days for orders and refunds to process. Sorry for the hassle. We'd LOVE to not have to do it this way, but at the moment, it's the only option offered by PayPal.

What currency are your prices in?

All prices listed are in US Dollars.

What are my payment options?

We happily accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and Paypal (all of which are processed through the Paypal interface). You do not need to sign up for a Paypal account to pay with your credit card.

Where do you ship?

We ship worldwide...but shipping prices will vary with item and location. Please note, all shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer and will not be paid in part or in full by Neither Fish Nor Fowl. This may include VAT or other import taxes that are applied by the postal service in your home country (sometimes up to 25%). While we regret any delays that may be caused by Postal and Customs processing in other countries, we cannot be responsible for them. Please research your local rules before ordering.

When will my order ship?

We currently fill and ship orders every Friday. Arrival times vary by destination. As soon as we get the hang of our newfangled shipping software, we'll list estimated delivery times for you.

Can I return an item I purchased? Can I cancel my order?

We want you to be totally happy with your order, and while we're confident that our products will meet your expectations, we also understand that things don't always work out. So if you're unhappy with your order for any reason, simply return the item in its original packaging (within 30 days of purchase), and email us at to arrange for a store credit or refund.

The item I want is sold out. When will it be available again?

On occasion, items may sell out, or restocking may be delayed. We're sorry in advance if that happens. NFNF is a very small operation, and while do our best to run a tight ship, occasional hiccups are inevitable. The best way to find out when your item is back in stock (or to hear about future shop updates) is to join our mailing list (you can use the signup form on the "contact" page). Note: At the moment, we will only contact you when your requested item has restocked, or when we publish our occasional newsletter (currently quarterly). And we'll never share your information with anyone, ever, because that's super annoying.

How often do you restock?

With the exception of limited editions and one-off found items, we restock on an as-needed basis. We make every effort to ensure that all items are in stock at all times, but unavoidable delays sometimes happen.

May I reserve/hold an item?

We apologize, but in fairness to the rest of our customers, we cannot reserve items at this time.

Will you make a City Print of my town, wedding map, holiday card, etc.?

While we are thrilled and grateful for the popularity of our City Prints, they take a very long time to research and illustrate, and we love to make all sorts of things, not just city prints. As a result, we're generally unable to accept one-off commissions or requests for derivative work.

Where are you located, can I/we visit your studio?

NFNF is located in sunny Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Unfortunately, we haven't tidied up enough to accept visitors, but we love receiving happy surprises in the post, so feel free to contact us that way, or via email on our "contact us" page.
