Malwitz Surfboards (spec logos)

So, the really nice thing about taking a sabbatical from work is that you can indulge otherwise unimaginable pursuits like, for instance, spending a few hours obsessively brush-penning mockups for a great guy in Philly who's giving away a surfboard in exchange for a logo. The funniest part is that I never knew him when i lived there. Apparently it took heading across the Atlantic and trolling the web to spawn such opportunities.

Your lips move but i can't hear what you say

One of a series of three NFNF Posters. First major work produced since moving to London for the Summer. I will post the next two as I complete them. 30x40 digitally-manipulated ink drawing with sampled textures. Will either screenprint or giclee print the lot.

Catch And Release Program

A conceptual project wherein I purchase apparel from regional Thrift Stores, modify them (screenprinting, applied graphics, and a sewn-in label), and toss them back to store from which they were "caught". At some point the garments will be tagged with a tracking number and a link to a website that keeps tabs on their migratory patterns. Just like geese. It's also an excuse to work in a vaguely retro illustration style. Lots of bleedy napkin drawings and funny looking noses. Lately i've been obsessed with It's A Small World, or at least what it looks like in my memories as a 6-year old. The real thing always falls a bit short.

Sketchbook Excerpts

Torn from the pages, proof that long management meetings can spawn the most interesting doodleart.

Hippified illustration for the April 2005 issue of Rockpile magazine.

Another tee shirt design waiting for a home.
