I'm A Cuckoo

Tee design with appropriated elements.

Catch And Release Program

A conceptual project wherein I purchase apparel from regional Thrift Stores, modify them (screenprinting, applied graphics, and a sewn-in label), and toss them back to store from which they were "caught". At some point the garments will be tagged with a tracking number and a link to a website that keeps tabs on their migratory patterns. Just like geese. It's also an excuse to work in a vaguely retro illustration style. Lots of bleedy napkin drawings and funny looking noses. Lately i've been obsessed with It's A Small World, or at least what it looks like in my memories as a 6-year old. The real thing always falls a bit short.

Tasty / Bored

Couple more unprinted tee shirt graphics. Some latent type stuff in here as well. Maybe I should build out the complete character sets.

Wiseacre

Another tee shirt design waiting for a home.

Troublemaker

Destined for a teeshirt very soon. This one will probably be printed on the back of a pocket tee. Because it's time for pocket tees to come back, dammit.

Anything and Everything

Some type-based spot graphics.

Counterculture

Some remnants from my dirty hippy infatuation in early 2005. They should live on shirts some day.

Tee Graphics waiting for a home

I make piles of these things, and they languish on my hard drive. Time to see the light of day.

Capital Tees

An old batch of shirt designs based on the notion that certain global neighborhoods were culture generators. At the time, most people weren't aware of say, Harajuku's influence on global fashion and trends. But these days everyone's clued in, and trend forecasters, coolhunters and stylists roam the earth (or at least the officially sanctioned hipster locii), ready to co-opt and disseminate every last bit of individuality. A rant, yes. But I am as guilty as the rest of them.
