Time passes so fast that sometimes i forget about this poor little site, who has been languishing without an update for some time now. I’m happy to report that i’ve been very busy, and have just posted a few of the fruits of my recent labors HERE, and HERE.

Take a good look at Naomi Reis’s amalgamated cityscapes—meticulously painted and handcut mylar fragments of faded cities and flickering utopias. If you’re in Brooklyn, stop by and see her at the super-fleeting-one-night-only Dream Tigers show on 27 July from 6-10p at Vaudeville Park (26 Bushwick Ave at Devoe).

Oh yes, how could i forget to mention the lovely time i’ve had in the company of two visitors from my briefly adopted home of London? Jim Stoten and Brie Harrison have been really lighting up the studio with their positive energy and prolific output.

Hot dang, i’ve had the rare privilege of being a fly-on-the-wall for the production of Garrett Morin’s upcoming animated short for GOOD Magazine. No spoilers here, other than to say that if you have eyes, you will be blown away when this thing launches in August.

Hey! Rad Mountaineer and fellow Philadelphia-to-Brooklynite Damien Correll just relaunched his site, and it’s filled to the gills with extraordinary new work.

I also want to extend my gratitude to a whole bunch of great people who have mentioned NFNF on their blogs lately. Each one is worthy of a visit, for inspiration, a creative boost or just to discover something new!!! :

Wow. OK so i’ve been super busy with tons going on already in 2008. No rest in Brooklyn! Mike Perry, Anna Wolf and I have just finished painting and wiring up our new STUDIO workspace, and we’re moving in a few days from now. It’ll be so awesome to not have to sleep atop piles of illustration and design debris. Stay tuned for more announcements regarding the space…

This week i’m guest blogging over at Seshn.com, a lifestyle portal that features behind-the-scenes content from the interconnected worlds of Skateboarding, Snowboarding and Surfing. Lots of great boardsport-related stuff over there, including new illustration, photography, and music. Thanks to the Seshn team for the sounding platform!

I was recently asked to submit work for the “v14n5: Art Directors Issue” of IdN Magazine. Wound up on the same page as some of my favorite neighbors in Brooklyn (Mike Perry and Damien Correll). Thanks IdN!

Good grief it’s been frightfully long since i last posted. Suffice to say that a LOT has happened in this amazing city. I’ve posted a smattering of new pieces to the Work-for-Hire and Independent Projects sections of the site. Please check them out! Other news coming shortly.

After 4 months of awesome, i have returned from the UK with more than enough epic experiences to bore even the most patient of listeners. And some new work as well—a six page story in the fabulous upcoming Winter/Spring issue of The Crier.

Returning also means i’m throwing myself at the mercy of the New York work/housing market, so feel free to contact me day or night if you have a project you’d like me to work on, or a place you’d like to sublet.

For those not already aware, I have left Philadelphia and am currently living in LONDON. As you can imagine, everything is lovely here, and i am taking this summer to regroup, work like mad on a pile of independent illustration projects, and will return to the States in late September.

I am fully available for any collaborations or interesting projects while here, so please drop me a note if you’re interested.

Lara Backmender – stylist to the stars, and all around amazingly talented person, just launched her own site.

I know i’ve mentioned these guys recently, but good lord they just relaunched with a gorgeous portfolio site. Please indicate you agree by throwing piles of work their way.

The ever awesome Steven Harrington from National Forest in LA just sent me a copy of Art Prostitute Seven, which features work by he and equally radd partner-in-design Justin Krietemeyer... which reminds me that they had an incredible show last month at the Art Prostitute gallery, with Gocco prints galore! Well, OK. So after forever and a little bit, here’s some work that’s been collecting dust. Hopefully this site will function as a portfolio, a blog, and a window into life at an in-house art dept. Don’t even look at the filthy code for these pages. Definitely NOT my forte, but a good learning experience nonetheless.
